COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE REVIEW (CGR)
Reigate & Banstead Borough Council has started a Community Governance Review
(CGR). This review will consider local governance arrangements throughout the Borough.
Following the recent survey the creation of a new parish covering most of the north of the borough, called Banstead and The Villages Council has been proposed. To have your say regarding this proposal click here.
Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)
Government confirms two unitary councils will replace the current 12 in Surrey.
East Surrey will cover the areas of Reigate & Banstead; Elmbridge; Epsom and Ewell; Mole Valley and Tandridge.
West Surrey will cover the areas of Guildford; Runnymede; Spelthorne; Surrey Heath; Waverley and Woking.
Elections for the new shadow unitary authorities will be in May 2026, with new authorities expected to become operational in May 2027.

BANSTEAD FIRE STATION
The fire station will remain for a further year in Banstead.
Transport for London (TFL) Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) London-wide on 29 August 2023. Drivers of non-compliant vehicles would pay £12.50 per day to drive within Greater London.
